Our Kids Beginners Jiu Jitsu classes are designed for children aged 5 and up. Youth Jiu Jitsu classes are for ages 9 and up. We ensure age-appropriate instruction and techniques for each group.
No-Gi jiu jitsu means training without the traditional martial arts uniform (gi). Kids wear comfortable athletic clothing like rash guards and shorts. This makes training more accessible and comfortable while still teaching all the fundamental techniques of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Yes! Safety is our top priority. Kids jiu jitsu focuses on controlled movements, proper technique, and positional grappling rather than strikes. Our experienced instructors ensure proper supervision, teach kids to train safely with partners, and create a controlled learning environment. Jiu jitsu is widely recognized as one of the safest martial arts for children.
For No-Gi classes, kids should wear comfortable athletic clothing such as a rash guard or fitted t-shirt and athletic shorts or leggings. Please avoid clothing with zippers or rough materials. Bring a water bottle, and ensure your child has short fingernails to prevent scratches.
No experience is necessary! Our Kids Beginners classes are designed for children who are completely new to jiu jitsu. We teach all the fundamentals from scratch in a fun, supportive environment that encourages learning at each child's own pace.
Parents are welcome to observe classes, especially during the first few sessions as your child gets comfortable. We find that many kids focus better without parents watching, but we're flexible based on your child's needs and comfort level.
